day4~ less than 2 weeks to go.

The sale area is still expanding.

Moving toward the front of the garage
and around the corner in the back.

Less than 2 weeks until the sale.

day 3~ update on my antiques sale preparations.

The sale's area and the merchandise are
both expanding.

I still haven't tossed that paint can,
but the pile in the middle is smaller.

Just keeping it real...
it looks bad until it looks better.

The sale is now less than 3 weeks away.

Back to work.....

more things that over-perform.

The gooseneck loosestrife is definitely
over-performing this year.

I  love their little goose heads.

 I keep them under control
with heavy thinning each year.

I loved them from the first time I saw a field
of blooming gooseneck loosestrife in a magazine.

If you like them too,
just don't plant them anywhere that
you do not want them to take over.

things that over~perform....

Have you noticed the size of
snowball hydrangeas
this year?

With all the rain
this summer
they are HUGE!

day 2~ getting ready for my antiques sale.

The display is expanding.

I added another table and cleaned more wall area
and added more things for sale.

As anyone who had done any rearranging knows,
sometimes things look worst before
they look better.

The pile in the front is all stuff
that has gotten displaced by the
"sales showroom."

Everything in the pile will either~
be for sale, be donated, tucked into a corner somewhere,
or thrown away.

The dried-up can of paint
will definitely be getting tossed.

day 1~ getting ready for my annual antiques sale.

day 1~

I took everything off the wall and started fresh...
adding the things that are going to be for sale
next month

during my annual
Antiques Sale.

You can see all the essentials for getting ready for a sale~
price tags, string, scissors, windex, paper towels,
of course, the ladder.

I am pretty pleased with how much
I accomplished in just a couple of hours.

a day at the beach~ glass floats and sea glass.

It is mid-summer already
and time for a change up of displays.

I am going to be listing these vintage glass floats
for sale in my etsy shop,
but until they are gone I am going
to enjoy them on my dining room table.

If you are interested in purchasing these vintage
blue floats, contact me through
email or my etsy shop.

let there be light.

Our lighting projects in the dining room are complete.

The sconces are wired so they finally work for the first
time ever.

The pendant light I designed is up.

I used a deeply discounted glass shade I found on build.com
combined it with old-fashioned black twisted cord
and a vintage-styled socket and canopy
I purchased on etsy.

Total cost for pendant parts~~~ around $50.

Lastly we added recessed lighting
to this windowless room.

It makes such a difference both day and night.

Now my newly painted ceiling and beams really look good.
