Last Thursday I attended a local church rummage sale that is one of the biggest in the country.
It has a special place in my heart for a second reason in addition to it's size. It was the first church rummage sale I ever attended more than 30 years ago when I moved to the Chicago area.
This year didn't disappoint.
This dome is huge. It is 12 inches in diameter and 18 inches high.
Imagine me getting it out of the church through crowds of people without breaking it.
And a second smaller vintage dome to add to my "It's all better under glass collection."
Lastly, I got this nice group of metal flower frogs.
Like me, do you have special vintage shopping locations that bring back especially fond memories?

Be still my heart!!! What awesome finds! I love church garage sales, they are my favorite. They always seem to have more vintage items than a home garage sale. Like you said....this one did not disappoint.

Church rummage sales are always the best, but I've never seen anything like this at one! Those domes are amazing, and so perfect for you!
ReplyDeleteSounds like it was a good sale. I stopped at a church rummage sale last Sat. and it was a disappointment.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful, wonderful find!! I'm sure you had a great time going through all the items at that sale. I love your flower frogs too. You don't even need to put anything in them. They look so nice just grouped together like you have them :-)
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Marcia
Those domes were a fantastic find!! Love the collection of frogs too.

ReplyDeleteFirst, I'm in love with your blog and a new follower. Second, love that Etsy shop even more. So, glad I found you. Third, (just having fun numbering things now) what great finds for a church rummage sale. I'll be back for more.

Fun things! I used to shop vintage, even primative sales back in the day. Then, my taste completely changed and I wouldn't stop at a garage sale, vintage store or antique shop for decades. Along comes blogging...a few little treasures are starting to appear around my house again!
ReplyDeleteI hit the best estate sale last weekend- I plan to go back THIS weekend for more goodies- ohm AFTER I get home from Wheaton!
ReplyDeleteHi Joan,
ReplyDeleteLucky you, those glass domes are fabulous! I love how you use them around your home, just beautiful!
Have a great day.
Sincerely,
Melinda

Joan, that dome is simply amazing!!! All great stuff. I managed to make it to a very small church rummage sale in my neighborhood this weekend (sales twice a year) and got a few great things for very good prices so I was very happy.
