Not Your Mother's Easter Eggs...

When decorating for Easter and Spring, I know you're ready for more than colored eggs in an Easter basket.

The eggs in the first three photos are boxes...

Covered with bits of French writing. I added snippets of hand-dyed seam binding, blanket edging and some old pearly jewelry...

Below are some giant eggs {8 inches long} with more French writing, vintage ribbon, and old silk millinery flowers.

For a long time I saved these ribbons and flowers for something special. I am glad I did.

Eggs aren't have to be just for Easter anymore. Birds, nests, and eggs can work with all your Spring decorating.

For other eggs and nests I made for spring read the next post.

Other inspiring spring projects are linked to this week's daily blog parties listed near the top of my sidebar.

  10. Those are fabulous! Such a nice departure from the traditional Easter egg. I tried to do some wood ones with the splat paint technique. Let's just say one survived. LOL1
