During high school I had a job at Enchanted Forest Amusement Park in Chesterton, Indiana. Over the summer I operated the Fun House and...



sold tickets near the Bullet. Remember the Bullet? Guaranteed to make people throw up ~ or at least want to!



I bought 26 rolls of amusement park tickets last weekend at the Cedarburg (Wisc.) Maxwell Street Flea Market.



They are from the Thumb Fun Amusement Park in Fish Creek (Wisc.) on the Door County Pennisula.



When the park closed five years ago, this vendor bought all the leftover tickets, and these are the last two boxes.



On the orange tickets you can see that they were made in Chicago. I'm not so sure about the "Can be used at any time."

I love those vintage letters and numbers, don't you?

Projects 2 and 3: "Losing the Piles" at a Snail's Pace

It is a cute little table, but the top is broken and not attached. This finish is TOO shabby.



The wall shelf has nice lines, but has paint-can rust stains on each shelf. Junky add-on back and funny add-on bottom shelf.



Repaired and repainted, the redone pile is starting to grow....



{Among the stuff, you can see some of the accessories I will be using in my display when I get ready to sell these redones.}



and it all looks better than this, don't you think?

World Traveling Friends

I am reposting this as part of Sunday Favorites... It was first posted in May... and I love the old pictures and vintage luggage {both part of my collections at the time} and wanted to share it will you again....



While they traveled the world...



from Europe...



to the rockies...



to old Maine's cottages.



They used their luggage. I mean they really, really USED their luggage..



then repaired it, patched it up...



and USED it some more!



Wouldn't it have been being one of these friends ~ and being part of their globe trotting adventures?

Something From Nothing ~ or how I replaced nothing with dead stuff.

My potting shed's flower boxes has been empty all summer...



too much blogging ~ not enough gardening...



but for the last two weeks Mr. Anything Goes Here and I have been cleaning up the flower beds...



{nothing in these either...}



{didn't put those watering cans to much use...}




and I put some of the garden debris in the flower boxes ~ so they would look pretty for a day or two....

Pot your Croquet Set ~ or what to do when your plants are dead!

I admit it...I stole this idea from another blogger. But, not just any old blogger ~ a blogger who is a friend of mine...not just a "blogger" friend...a real life friend...who lives very close to me....



AND I am going to show you EXACTLY where I stole it from...right here.

My croquet sets come from curbside shopping also...and notice that she has one end thingie...and I have one end thingie...but they aren't from the same set! Weird.



I so wanted to put something in this empty urn AND... had no ideas... forgot about it... and then right on my sidebar appeared.... inspiration!

I hope she doesn't mind. I will let you know if she does! I am going off to email her right now! {Update: She said, "Steal away, and be sure you blog about it." ~ not really, she was very nice about it!}

Linda's look so cute as a pair...I don't have that many croquet mallets, and I don't have a cute pair of urns by my front door like she does.

White Urn Wednesday

In September I like to add a little autumn to my beach decor....



with seed pods, dried hydrangea, touches of darker blue and a splash of orange.



I found this plaster urn a couple of years ago. I have never seen another like it. Wish I had a second one

~ I love pairs!

The No-Brainer

At the Estate Sale I wanted this one...



Look at that patina ~ the color ~ the layers of old paint...



I knew someone will want it when I bring it to the flea to sell...



Mr. Anything Goes Here wanted this one... to put in the front yard ~ newish ~ red ~ almost perfect...



At $1 each... it was a no-brainer.. we both got what we wanted...



Don't you just love it when that happens????
