Most of my collections have been Estate Sale purchases. I am a "cheap availability" collector.
When it is no longer "cheaply available" at Estate Sales I stop collecting it.
Antique bears have been one of those things no longer "cheaply available"...
Until last week when I found the first "cheaply available" antique bear I have found in last 10 years.
{He is tiny and inside is a perfume bottle! Isn't he cute?}
This bear is adorable...and they are not found cheaply around here!! He looks so cute....Happy VTT!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet is that! In it's very own home.
ReplyDeleteI just love your little fuzzy wuzzy teddy, he's so sweet.
ReplyDeleteYour little furry friend is so cute! I haven't seen a cheap old bear in ages and ages. What a great find!
ReplyDeleteHappy VTT!

I agree about cheaply available being the best kind of collectible! I have to be reallllly motivated to pay collector's prices. Very cute bear!
ReplyDeletetoo cute for even words
ReplyDeleteYour little bear is cute. I like cheaply available too. I also like things that don't take up much space. I collected a lot of Teddy Bear postcards in the 1980s. I'm glad I didn't collect actual teddy Bears.
ReplyDeleteHe's adorable!
ReplyDeleteEven the lesser-nice bears are
not cheaply available anymore.
Fortunate find :+D
Love the paper wreath you made, too!

what a darling litle treasure!
ReplyDeleteStopping by from VTT. Super cute little bear! I collected bears as a little girl and had a similar one but he wasn't as tiny. :-)
ReplyDeleteI found a beauty on eBay not long ago, I will show him on VTT. I have a collection of stuffed animals including quite a few bears............
ReplyDeleteHe's adorable Joan. Great find!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Marcia
He is cute, does he smell nice from being in the perfume bottle?
ReplyDeleteYour right it is hard to find things at Estate sales now that are priced right. lol But the hunt is always fun
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing

Joan,
ReplyDeleteWe are very similar in how we collect. I do estate auctions and my collections depend on the price. You know the excitement of finding a treasure for next to nothing. ;) Your bear is adorable!
Happy Holidays!

He reminds me of my hubby's childhood teddy bear. I keep MEANING to dig that thing out and do a post about it - - -
ReplyDeleteI TRIED to throw it out YEARS ago, but hubby saw it in the trash and did an intervention.
What a cutie.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the collect if this price is right but once it gets to be too much, the collection is over. Love this bear! I used to collect bears but then decided it was a little too much. I still have some that I hold on to. Love your paperback wreath. I'm thinking if I tried, it would look a big mess and nothing like a wreath. Blessings to you and yours, :) Tammy
ReplyDeleteOh, I am in love! What a sweet little bear!
ReplyDeleteAdorable and rather unique too! Great find!
ReplyDeleteI remember those vintage bears. I can't for the life of me remember their name, tho. What a nice find for you!
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Jo
What a great find...he's darling. So good that the perfume bottle is still in place.
