Sales~ both Estate and Garage have been few and far between since mid-December.
I don't know about in your area, but in the cold-weather states sales kind of shut down until around March.
But I did find this hand-hammered copper mirror before the season was over.
It isn't what I usually buy, but the price was very reasonable. It will be something I will sell when I go back to the shows in March.
Every part is hand crafted and decorated. I think its maker was quite talented.
I don't buy copper often, but this mirror's surface is very lovely.

A wonderful find. Some pieces just talk to you and this one would have talked to me as well.
ReplyDeleteIt would look really good really tarnished...but then that might be too much work!
ReplyDeleteIt'll sell fine just the way it is!

Hello Joan... oooh, your mirror is beautiful! I love the little acorns on it... xoxo Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteWhat a very unique piece. I feel the same way as you (we are both from Illinois). There was a garage sale I missed last week which was an entire home. Oh, I was so angry I forgot about it!! Hopefully more will start soon!

What a gorgeous treasure. Are you sure you're going to sell it? It sure is lovely.
ReplyDeleteThere are alot of estate sales in the area, but it's just too cold to be standing out there waiting to be let in!
ReplyDeleteYour mirror is really lovely! Between the patina and those acorns, it's one sweet piece!
Can't wait 'til your Valentine Card Party, Joan!

ReplyDeleteIt is gorgeous and the detail... OMG! Love it! Have a blessed day!
ReplyDeleteI love copper and I have never seen any hammered copper except some small pictures that look like they were made from a kit.
ReplyDeleteWhat a very interesting piece. Did it have a signature, date, etc. anywhere? I hope you were able to enjoy your much needed break from your crazy spring, summer, fall schedule.
ReplyDeleteI love the acorns! I am looking forward to sale season starting here in late April to early May :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Gail

It is really interesting isn't it? Obviously the artist was really talented. I wonder how it was originally used?
