Spotted this morning while out Estate Sale-ing:
Really cool planter...
not so good mailbox placement.... Couldn't they used a level
OR another wall? And what is with those empty plastic pots with the price tags still on the bottom?
Am I being
TOO critical here?
What do
you think?
I'm guessing you found that in an old book. Am I right? It's so much fun when a little surprise falls out of the pages.
ReplyDeleteGene was nice :-)
thanks for visiting my blog...yes, my husband and his friends "raised" my greenhouse/playhouse this summer! I am loving it! I adore your blog, and the note today is great! I do have a store, called ALL MY FAVORITE THINGS, in NE Portland, Oregon. and...I think that answers all your questions left on my blog!
ReplyDeleteI will be back...do love your blog...(by the way, I was born and lived my first 14 years in Elmhurst, Illinois!)
happy day!
Something for me to think about on this cloudy Saturday...literally and figuratively.
ReplyDeleteReally lovely! Thanks!

I agree, cool planter, the mailbox doesn't match at all, bad choice!
ReplyDeleteBalance.... such a simple word but hard to achieve. Yet I think even I could of 'balanced' this.. I want to reach into that photo and pull that letterbox off.. hahaha
ReplyDeleteHave fun this weekend. xx Julie
i think the mailbox will be overlooked by the mail carrier. not quite mixing. ?

I love the wall hanging/pots///but I am with you think the mailbox needed to be somewhere else..how fun ..
ReplyDeleteThey are not paying attention There is nothing in the planter...why bother having it??

Our neighbours had a great mailbox on a long metal post with a concrete base - the entire base had lifted up out of the ground and they kept the mailbox propped against our side hedge for years! We didn't mind - that's France for you! To be honest, it's a bit less characterless now it's fixed...
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your suggestion about the fabric box being for gloves - I think that is a very likely idea, and I like to imagine it! My mum has some vintage gloves - I wonder if I could borrow them (or even find them amongst her other stuff)?
Oops - I mean less characterful, or characterless...
ReplyDeleteBet the mail man just loves delivering to that box..not bad enuff re: rain, sleet, snow yadda yadda...then you got patrons who expect you to be a contortionist to get the WallieWorld junk flyer into the box!! HAHH! BTW...my Mom was a rural carrier years ago in Mass, so we got to hear all kind o' stories! have a great Sunday *elaine*
ReplyDeleteI could stand looking at that for about 3 seconds, how can in not bug the home owner?
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping in for a visit...yes I do beleive it would look way better with some greenery...and I don't think I'd like the mail box even if it was level....just my eye I guess..doesn;t look balanced to me...have a lovely day...
ReplyDeleteI'm with you. The mailbox placement is way off. Perhaps, the planter could have been placed "outside" of the area of the mailbox. The price tags wouldn't be on there if it were mine. But, I'd sweat the mailbox placement before I'd worry over the tags. ~Mindy
ReplyDeleteI agree..., mailbox and price tags have to go.
ReplyDeleteI think that's definitely a placement fail. Cute planter, bad application. :)
ReplyDeleteI could not handle that - I am one that straightens a crooked picture. :-)
ReplyDeleteThis planter COULD be really cute. Some folks know what they like, but don't quite have an eye for the details...
ReplyDeleteI love it! I think for me it's one of those things that is so wrong that it is right! It would look SO pretty with flowers growing in those teeny pots.
ReplyDeleteI love the planter!
ReplyDelete*another commenter in agreement*
...but um, yeah, the mailbox has to be put somewhere else...
