This is part of my haul from recent Estate Sales.... grouped on my kitchen counter so I can enjoy them ~ briefly ~ before packing them off to be sold....
... four flower frogs {from 4 different sales}, 1909 postcard with BEAUTIFUL handwriting, fancy vintage pin, old fly swatter
apothecary jar, two crosses and two rosaries, little business address books,
a herd of steel pin nibs, old screen-door spring {inside jar}, bill holder {pointy thing},
and the funny monkey-face-looking-things are sprinklers.
I love everything!!! The flower frogs, the rosaries, the apothecary jar, the vintage pin....it is everything vintage and everything I love! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYou picked up a lot of loot!! I love the flower frogs.

Hmmm Rosaries, crosses, apothecary, postcard and the large vintage photo in the background [which of course is not part of the haul but i suspect i have eyed this one before]. Lots of beauties here Joan.. have a great week xs Julie
ReplyDeleteHi Joan,
ReplyDeleteI have a "monkey face" sprinkler too!!! I didn't know that was it's name LOL...
I see that we buy/collect a LOT of the same things :)
I'm getting ready for the up coming monthly sale...
Deb :)
What wonderful things you have found. The postcard is my favorite. I have some older postcards but the writing is not as beautiful as your card. Isn't it fun to imagine the stories these items could tell?
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week.

What wonderful finds!! I was in vintage heaven!

Fun stuff! Lovely display. I love flower frogs. I use them to put little reminder notes in. Then I sit them right in front of the coffee pot. Can't miss 'em there.

What great finds!! Love the frogs...I use mine to display pretty business cards and photos, and the others keep the cats off the shelf on my porch! Oh, and the little green table in the previous post...neat idea with the tape around the edge! May I bloglift? Found an old wood stool on the road, and the seat edge is a bit rough...the tape would be the perfect fix! *elaine*
ReplyDeleteI love all of your goodies. I have a frog collection so i especially enjoyed seeing yours. The crosses are wonderful.

I love flower frogs, and the postcard. You have an interesting mix. So, what does someone do with an old door spring?
ReplyDeleteLove the flower frogs, but I actually think I love the fly swatter most. I remember sitting on my grnadmother's porch as a child and spending HOURS out there swatting flies! I know, I know, weird kid! ;-)

ReplyDeleteYou really cleaned up.
ReplyDeleteNifty items! Big fun!
ReplyDeleteYou had a lovely treasure hunt!
ReplyDeleteSuz
terrific scores! love vintage postcards. I'll have to show the collection I scored this summer.
ReplyDeleteThe postcard is exquisitely storyful in its beautiful penmanship, the two 5c stamps, and the fact that it not only WENT TO the Phillippines, it was precious enough to COME BACK in the saved treasures of a serviceman come home.
ReplyDeleteMy imagination just flies over the possibilities, and I'm so glad you showed it. Now I'll be conjuring all sorts of romantic tales over that one bit of cardstock.
Good morning Joan. I had company yesterday and didn't get to visit anyone. I love your 'loot' too. I used to sell antiques and miss the hunt so much. I hope you have a great day.
ReplyDeleteHugs...Jeanne
Joan, you sure know how to pull together a great little vignette! How could you possibly break them up and sell it all? They belong together!
ReplyDeleteYou found a lot of neat things on your outing. I know we cannot keep everything, but I am sure if I could part with some the items you have. Great job.
ReplyDeleteI'd be digging through the whole of
ReplyDeletegoodies you have there. The jewelry
would be the first thing! :)
I just love it all. Thanks for sharing!

ReplyDeleteDo you think the person who WROTE that post card could ever have imagined it would one cay be used as art by a total stranger?
ReplyDeleteI think not.
Do you think the silly post cards I send to my Grans from vacation will ever be artwork?
I think not.
One of these days I'm going to get a big blow up of a beautifully written postcard and put it on my wall.
