I love those MULTIPLES!

It is with delight that I join the MULTIPLES Blog Party.

My antiques business is ALL ABOUT multiples...most of the time that is my main criteria for buying something...

Can I get a lot of something....hose nozzles, tomato baskets, printers letters, whisk brooms....on and on....

Also, I look for common items that will look interesting in groups...below are some examples. Enjoy!!! Which do you like best?

  3. I like the beaded flowers, and I'm not sure what the other flower things are. Are those Christmas ornaments in the center of them?

  5. The butterflies! Definitely the butterflies! But they're all such great pictures that you really should write a book, Joan, and include them! You are The Queen!

  8. OK....I thought when I saw the bottles it was going to be a no-brainer....then I saw the clock faces, then the measuring tapes, then the flower frogs, and then the porcelain casters....love them all (and have a collection of all the above mentioned). If I ever get to your antiques business it would be deadly to my wallet!!

  9. Ooooh! I love them all too! I'm a sucker for old bottles, so I'm going to say that those are my favorites. :o) Great pics!

  10. LOVE the clothes pegs, HATE the butterflies! (Just because they were killed by the collectors, you know - seems so wrong by modern standards). I made so many happy little peg dolls from pegs like that - it really takes me back! You have some great 'lots' (that's what they're called in French too, pronounced 'low').

  12. I collect all that stuff too except for the paint brushes and the butterflies. I could probably do those too with all the painting I do and all the butterflies we get here. They're already dead in the greenhouses when I find them. I could never kill them either(noticed Floss mentioned that)
Seems weird we used to do that as kids in school.

  13. I like the clock or watch faces, the flower frogs, the old wheels, but I think my favorite is the butterflies. But only because it reminds me of my son's butterfly collection he had when he was a child. Brings back good memories.

  15. I have really been enjoying this blog for the last month or so!! Is it odd that I'm actually jealous of your PILES? I feel so good when I have piles of treasures around (don't look in my front hallway, there may or may not be five different dressers that need to be listed for sale that I can't bring myself to do...) and I so love reading about your business, it's so inspiring for those of us who would love to open shop one of these days!!

    Cheers!

  25. The bottles are awesome-I am building my collection again after losing the last one in a house fire, and the paint brushes are something I never thought of grouping as a collection-I tend to hang on to well loved/abused paint brushes..looks like its time gather them up and find a cool container!

  26. Yeah. You got me with the butterflies. Very cool.

  27. OMG- I love love love collections of small things...I have sock darners, noisemaklers, flower frogs and mini French santons. I switched to collecting "things that can fit in a large wooden bowl" because of the propensity of my former in laws to constantly gift me with rabbit themed things after I declared- I like rabbits. I have discovered people rarely gift you with sock darners...which is GREAT cause I like finding them myself. That said, feel free to send me those rabbit garden markers:)
